Ultrasound Certification Program of Mobius Institute Board of Certification is based on the requirements of following International Standards:-

ISO/IEC 17024 : It outlines how personnel certification programs should be conducted in general.

ISO 18436-1 : It outlines how personnel certification should be conducted specifically for personnel engaged in Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics of Machines.

ISO 18436-8: It outlines the technical requirements that are specific to certification of Ultrasound personnel.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATION
1) Candidates for Category I should at least have Secondary School /Diploma/Degree its equivalent Certificate.
2) Candidates for Category II should additionally be able to manipulate simple algebraic equations, use a basic scientific calculator (including trigonometric and logarithmic functions), and be familiar with the operation of personal computers.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - WORK EXPERIENCE
1) Candidates must provide evidence of their practical work experience in the field of Ultrasound-based machinery condition monitoring and diagnostics.
2) Ultrasound Technology Experience for Category I Course : 06 Months
3) Ultrasound Technology Experience for Category II Course : 12 Months
4) For candidates who have achieved certification as Vibration Analyst Category III or IV or Acoustic Emission Category II or III through a MIBoC approved certification body, the required cumulative experience shall be 1/3 of that stated above.
5) For candidates who have achieved certification as Vibration Analyst Category I or II or Acoustic Emission Category I through a MIBoC approved certification body, the required cumulative experience shall be 1/2 of that stated above.

EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATION
1) To be eligible for certification, candidates must pass the MIBoC Ultrasound Certification Examination. As per ISO 18436-8, the required pass mark is 70%.
2) Invigilated Exams may be taken in either a paper-based format or an online internet-based format.
3) The examination specification is based on the requirements of ISO 18436-8.
4) Examination results are e-mailed directly to the candidate around 10-14 days after the examination is received at MIBoC’s Australian office.
5) Certificates and Certification Cards are issued digitally within 2-4 weeks after the examination results are sent to the successful candidates by email.
